As a Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival first-timer, I have to say that my expectations were exceeded and the festival was a sweet success. Part of Monroe St. in Fairmont, W.V., was dedicated to family, friends, food, jazz, holiday & traditional Italian music, dancing, Bob & Shannon Tinnell's cooking school and a warm community spirit that brings old and new ideas together for all generations.
For the record, I had linguini with squid sauce, a slice of Colasessano's pizza, fried calamari, chocolate and beer (one dark and a few lite) and it was all simply delectable. I regret, however, not sampling a pulled pork panini, fried smelt, roasted chestnuts, Italian desserts and much more. Also, don't tell my wife I neglected to pick her up a "Buon Natale" apron. They went faster than you can say "Volare."
